Broom Tree retreat center books first retreat

Progress continues to be made at the diocese’s Broom Tree Farm retreat center near Irene with a planned opening in early December.
The diocese has already booked its first two events at the retreat center.
The Knights of Columbus have booked a retreat for December at the facility and the University of South Dakota has booked a meeting.
The diocese hopes to be ready to fully take bookings and reservations beginning August 1.
Details about how the reservation and booking process will work will be made public closer to August 1st.
Father James Mason has been assigned by Bishop Carlson as the director of Broom Tree Farm.
He has served the last three years as pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Garretson.
Father Mason will continue to serve as diocesan vocations director.
