The Diocese of Sioux Falls will ordain
two seminarians to the priesthood and three seminarians to
the transitional diaconate at the beginning of this month.
The ordinations to the priesthood are scheduled for Friday,
June 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral., while the ordinations
to the diaconate will take place on Thursday, June 2 at 11
a.m., also at St. Joseph Cathedral.
Reverend Mr. Dana Christensen and Reverend Mr. Robert Lacey
will be ordained on Friday with apostolic administrator, Bishop
Samuel J. Aquila, former Bishop Robert J. Carlson and retired
Bishop Paul V. Dudley presiding.
Seminarians David Axtmann, Andrew Dickinson and David Garza
will be ordained to the transitional diaconate on Thursday.
Christensen just concluded his seminary study at Kenrick-Glennon
Seminary in St. Louis while Lacey finished his seminary study
at Mount Saint Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD.
As for the candidates for the transitional diaconate, David
Axtmann just concluded his third year of seminary study at
Holy Apostles Seminary, Cromwell, CT.
Dickinson and Garza concluded their third year of Theological
studies at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary, Denver.
The diocese continues to have more than 20 men in formation
studying for the priesthood.at various seminaries across the
country.
